Dawn on the Bitterroot River
Dawn's early light on Montana's Bitterroot river. I had scouted this bend in the river on the previous evening and was happy to see the Cottonwood trees were in prime Fall color. Although it was overcast, I still waited till dark, hoping for some magic light. No luck. So I checked the weather forecast for the next morning and it predicted partly cloudy skies at dawn. I hoped that there would be some clouds to catch the light at sunrise, and some gaps where the sunlight could get through. When I awoke the next morning, a hint of a rosey glow was allready happening in the eastern sky. I hurried to this vista and was thrilled to see the blazing color in the sky along with mist hovering above the river.
