Winter Waxwings
  • Winter Waxwings

Two Bohemian Waxwings in a Mountain Ash tree on a cold December afternoon.  It is always fun to see a huge flock of migrating Waxwings converge on a Mountain Ash tree to feast on its berries.  The temperature on this afternoon was 25 degrees below zero farenheit.  When it is that cold, the Waxwings need the fuel to stay warm.  Beautiful birds in a beautiful tree.
